The Saratoga Historical Foundation is hosting a ribbon cutting with city officials to celebrate the new landscaping of the Saratoga Historical Park (20450 Saratoga-Los Gatos Road in Saratoga) on Thursday, October 28 at 3:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public.
The new landscaping was paid in part by a grant from the Saratoga Horticultural Research Foundation who specialized in the development of California native and drought tolerant plants. They developed over 150 such plants.
The event will include a ribbon cutting; speeches, free refreshments, and the opportunity to take the self-guided tour of the plants in the park.
According to SHF President Robert Himel, "It is with great pride we can offer a tour of the historic gardens. A self-guided map is available outside as well as inside the Museum and at the BookGoRound so people can walk through the gardens at any time. It is a great way to learn about Saratoga horticultural history."
