Description

Shaped by Water, a free lecture by Jan Masters and Valerie Richardson, and sponsored by the Saratoga Historical Foundation will take place on March 19 at 7 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Reception Hall. Shaped by water will highlight the many ways in which human uses of water have affected the development of the Santa Clara Valley. The lecture will trace how water has shaped the development from the time of the Native Americans, through the arrival of the Spanish in the Mission era, then the beginning of the American period with the Gold Rush and the first influx of large numbers of new residents, through the "Valley of Heart's Delight era and into the present. Some considerations for the future will also be touched upon.
