The Saratoga History Museum is hosting a special reception on June 23 in honor of the exhibit, Betty and Willys Peck—The Heart of Saratoga. The reception will be held from 1-3 PM at the Saratoga History Museum at 20450 Saratoga-Los Gatos Road in Saratoga. A short ceremony, light refreshments, and music will take place. The reception is free and open to the public.
The exhibit honors the many contributions Willys and Betty Peck have made to the community. It features contributions made in drama, music, historical preservation, nature and community service. Willys Peck was the town historian, newspaperman, attorney, train buff, author, and playwright. Betty Peck has over 50 years in early childhood teaching and consulting. She originated the Saratoga Community Garden which ran for 15 years while teaching children organic gardening.
During the period of the exhibit and on the third Sunday of each month, some of the past presentations Willys Peck gave will be shown: July 21—Southern Pacific; August 18 – Walking Tour; September 11 – Peninsular Interurban Railway and October 20 – School Memories. These tapes will be shown at 2 PM in the museum (20450 Saratoga-Los Gatos Road). Free admittance.
