Delve into a facet of Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci's artwork that has been overlooked for centuries, yet is visual to the naked eye. Da Vinci's placement and use of inspired knots throughout his artwork can be seen in iconic works such as "Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper." The intertwining knot Da Vinci invents tells the story of a hidden message, discovered in Mona Lisa's embroidery pattern and unlocked by Cocciardi. The message, its meaning, and its impact on our understanding the cross-section of art and mathematics that Da Vinci imbued in his works will be revealed in this lecture.
