DESCRIPTION:Well-known historian Doug McNeil will speak on March 18 at the Saratoga Historical Foundation membership program on interesting people and events associated with the history of Monte Sereno.\n\n\n\nMonte Sereno (aka Peaceful Mountain) is well-known for author John Steinbeck residing there - but what about the Billy Jones and the Wildcat Railroad and his friend Walt Disney\; The Hitt family who once had a fireworks factory - the largest in the West\; the popular Claravale dairy that also served Saratoga and a few more surprises.\n\n\n\nThe presentation will take place at the Immanuel Lutheran Fellowship Hall at 14103 Saratoga Avenue in Saratoga. The potluck begins at 6:30 PM - bring food to share\, your own utensils\, plates\, and preferred beverage.\n\n\n\nCoffee and water will be provided.\n\n\n\nThe lecture will begin at 7:30 PM.\n\n\n\nThe event is free and open to the public.\n\n\n\nDon't miss this entertaining event.
